Updates and Disney

I've been slightly missing writing. I just have kept all those thoughts and memories tucked inside nice and safe. It has been an interesting and good year. It has been an unusual year in regard to a lot of deaths. Starting July first and going on up until a week ago. So many, I'm not sure if I remember them all. Aunt Georgie's passing started it all. She was followed by Cocoa, Great Grandma Hammerstone, Ben's Dad, and James-one of the cooks in the kitchen at the bar. I know I've missed a few. Maybe not. It seems like a lot.

This past September, we all (my sis and her family and my parents) went to Disney World. It was such an awesome trip. My Dad had been saying for about four or five years that when he turned sixty, he was going to take us all there and sure enough, he did just that.

I wish I would have written about as soon as we returned. We got to Florida on September fifteenth. The next day was my Mom's birthday and we all had lunch at Kona Cafe at the Polynesian Resort. It was such a wonderful meal. I remember having duck dumplings for an appetizer and salmon on foccacia with Boursin cheese and a frisee salad for the entree. I think I had a chocolate macademia nut torte for dessert. It is amazing I didn't gain ten pounds!

Monday, the seventeenth, was spent with my parents at Epcot. We didn't plan it, but we got to the park before it opened and didn't leave until after the Illuminations fireworks display. We had dinner at Akershus in Norway. It was a princess dinner. Ava came out of her shell-I think she was star struck by all of the princesses. She squealed, "princess" and "Belle" a lot. Belle and Cinderella are her favorites. Audrey loves Jasmine. The entrees were okay, but the cold table buffet of pickled herring, smoked salmon, and peppered mackrel was great.

Going through all of the different countries was great fun. We had lunch in Mexico on the lake. It was very good. The patio had lots of birds that the girls fed. Audrey went on test track with Eric, my Dad, and I. She was so funny-we got on the ride and when we got to a check point to make sure our saftety belts were fastened, she looked up at the guy working and said, "I don't think I can do this." and he said,"Yes, you can." and off we went. It was a lot of fun. I think my Dad videotaped it. He videotaped EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE. He had more fun than anybody!

To be continued...
