Daddy-Eton hand crank radio with NPR logo (from me), lots of fly fishing gadgets, 9 CDs, and a giant cot.
Audrey-easel, bike (and helmet), books-Is There Really a Human Race,? It Looked Like Spilled Milk, Junie B., airplane model, A Light in the Attic, and a horse book plus lots of other horse stuff, MAKEUP-she went to bed with glitter covering her sweet little face, super long pink dangly earings from Santa Claus, rainbow colored measuring spoons and cups, and diamond earings from Auntie Cory.
Ava-lots of books-I Spy Little Christmas, Penguin Dreams, Quincy the Hobby Photographer, Alice in Wonderland pop-up by Seibold, Cobweb Christmas, and Roy Lichtenstein's ABC, a play kitchen and some wonderful wood play food that isn't so small that she can swallow it (like the HABA food Audrey has), a play phone, and Sesame Street purse and doctor's kit, a caterpillar tunnel, the Fisher Price wedding cake I fianlly won on ebay.
Me-I think my ultimate favorite thing was a wooden magazine holder (actually a yarn basket). It was tied with red ribbons and had a newspaper from the day of my birth in it!!!! It could not possibly be more perfect. I love it-can you tell? That was from my lovely folks who know my love of old things runs deep. They also got me a super cute vintage purse (I picked it out on my Mom's birthday while shopping for her!), old ice tongs that I'm making into an awesome paper towel holder (stole that idea from my Dad's version I spied in his garage). My awesome In-Laws got me 3 DVDs-The Music Man, Calamity Jane, and Mame, plus these really cool polka dotted wine glasses that are on back order. My sis-in-law gave me these cool erasers that look like a bunch of yummy desserts on a little baking pan plus The Art of Eating. Finally, hubby extraordinare gave me My Life in France by Julia Child which I can't put down, a creme brulee set from Sur La Table, a French tapered rolling pin also from Sur La Table, and new measuring spoons and cups that are bowl like in shape. Oh, I almost forgot, a much wanted (for 2 years!?) oval rubber welcome mat from Ballard Designs. It makes our front porch/door look so much more inviting!
There is lots more-we were extremely blessed. I hope we were able to bless our loved ones as much as they blessed us. Oh, and a present from my beloved Savior, finally seeing "My Mom's fox"-the fox she always talks about seeing in her backyard. I got to see him fairily up close and he was huge and so beautiful and curious. He had a beautiful winter coat and the bushiest longest tail. Reminds me of a favorite book Red Fox Running. Seeing him was a real treat.
Well I missed posting in November and I got one in this month. I guess that is okay.
*This post kind of rubs me the wrong way. It's a bunch of "Gots". I got this, he got this... I thought about deleting it, but decided to keep it even though I'm kind of embarrassed that I wrote about a bunch of purchased "stuff". This is a diary of sorts, and a record of events, I guess gifts are included.
