National Pie Day 2011

So, January 23rd has ALWAYS been National Pie Day? How is it that I'm slow to notice such an important national event? Well, no more! Consider it recognized in the Hammerstone Household. In my defense, Pie Day is everyday as far as I'm concerned.

Now on to even more disturbing news. I also discovered the best blog name ever. The name is so perfect. It's also completely taken. I'm not a copycat. Grandgirl IS grand, but if I only thought of this name first... The most perfect blog name is....."Pie Love You!!!!" The blogger's name, Kimberly! Ugg! Robbed!

To make matters EVEN worse, this woman has dedicated "Pie Love You" to her husband because he loves pie! Her goal of 2010? To bake him 52 pies! I'm sick. I'm distraught. I'm gonna have to act on all of this pie revelation.

So I'm off to plan the perfect pie for tomorrow's celebration. It is kind of sweet that it falls on a Sunday and my husband will be returning home from a fishing trip. I just made a cherry pie a few days ago. I don't even know what I'm craving yet. I think I may make a chocolate pie. I tend to make lots of fruit pies-so chocolate it is.
