Yesterday's funny events:
1. Audrey came home from school and announced half of a huge fish was dropped by a bird onto the school's playground. It landed beneath a tree while kindergarten was outside. Is this some kind of message? :)
2. We had a big family dinner at Trattoria Marcella last night to celebrate Eric's birthday. Ava, my picky six year old who only eats like six things, ate something extremely unusual. We ordered fried calamari and Eric told her it was chicken rings (like from White Castle!) and she ate it and LOVED it! Later Eric told her he pranked her (something big in this family, for a reason I don't understand) and she thought it was funny. She ate Squidward! She has vowed revenge. I can't wait.
3. While I was in the restroom with Ava, I returned to the table to hear Audrey exclaim, "Eww! That is SO gross!" What exactly was she referring to? Yeah, that would be a purple cocktail that Aunt Cory ordered and then shared in a public restaurant with my ten year old... It was described as a boozy concoction of melted grape popsicle and alcohol. Hammerstone's.....
Also, tomorrow Eric and I are leaving for our yearly weekend get away. Eleven Point River! I've been to Greer Spring before, but neither of us have floated this river. I even have waders thanks to that husband of mine. I canNOT wait!!! "Romantic getaway" sounds so cheesy, but I don't care. It is what it is. I love my husband so much. I'm blessed beyond measure.
