No Stories Here, Just the Facts

James Dean and Elizabeth Taylor in Giaint. See Fact #5.

I've been enjoying writing so much lately, and now I find myself wanting to write...yet I haven't a story to tell/share. Instead of my traditional ramblings, I thought I'd share some facts.

Fact #1. Ava's birthday is coming up. What does my five year old want for her birthday? A sleep number bed, of course! Too much t.v.? I've failed her in five short years...shit.

Fact #2. Daddy/Daughter work days are my favorite surprise holiday. Actually, that, and snow days-it's a tie. For the first time in a long while, Eric took Audrey to work with him. He initiated daddy/daughter work days when she was around four years old. As the years have gone by, he has gotten so busy, these special days have become a rarity. Even so, we are reinstating them. Ava's turn is next. I think the one time he did take her, she was not impressed.

Fact #3. I decided if I had to admit to a guilty pleasure, it would be Joan Rivers. Everyone seems to hate her, but I think she is hysterical. I think I'm looking just as forward to watching her critique and make fun of this year's Oscar fashions, as I am the actual Oscars.

Fact #4. Once I stop laughing, I usually feel guilty over what I am laughing about when watching Tosh.O.

Fact #5. Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson, James Dean-Giant. I watched it again yesterday. Have three more beautiful people ever appeared in a movie together? I am SO ga ga over Elizabeth...

Fact #6. I am excited and nervous that come August, both of my children will be enrolled in elementary school full time! What am I going to do with my time?

Fact #7. What am I doing right now-besides writing? Audrey and I are making homemade dog treats to take to the Dog Parade on Sunday. Her 4-H Club is going to sell them at the bar as a fundraising project.

Fact #8. Miami, Michigan, Kentucky, California. The responses to the question, "Where do you want to go on vacation this year?" Ava, who calls it a bee-cation, has selected a Nickelodeon Cruise that departs from Miami. Audrey quickly blurted, "Kentucky". Leaving us all to wonder why. "Kentucky Derby," she clarified. Now it makes sense. Me-Yosemite National Park in California. Eric, total no brainer-fly fishing in Michigan.

Fact #9. I've been writing this for two days now. Dog treats are made, I'm moving on to ginger cupcakes with lemon cream cheese icing. New recipes excite me. This one calls for 1/2 cup of molasses and crystalized ginger. (Yet another day has gone by-they were amazing!).

Fact#10. I have ideas for two new tattoos. One is of a fox wrapped around my shoulders like a stole with its head and tail resting above my chest. The other is of a bat hanging upside from my clavicle. Maybe...
